## About Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security

The Federal Office for Customs and Border Security (BAZG) sets the exchange rates that apply to Swiss customs declarations and import VAT. It publishes a rate each working morning that is legally valid for the following day — a Friday publication covers the weekend and Monday — which makes it the only daily official Swiss rate: the Swiss National Bank publishes monthly averages rather than a daily fixing.

## Why use the official Swiss Federal Office for Customs and Border Security rate?
