Limited provider support: Some providers don't support all currency corridors. Atlantic Money only supports transfers to/from European countries, UK, and select others (not Sri Lanka).
How is the Effective Exchange Rate calculated? The Effective Exchange Rate shown for each provider is calculated as: Recipient Gets ÷ Amount Sent. This rate accounts for ALL costs including transfer fees, service charges, and any exchange rate markup applied by the provider.
Provider country support varies:
- Wise: 170+ countries and 50+ currencies. Restricted in sanctioned territories.
- Revolut: 140+ countries. Sri Lankan residents cannot open accounts; some corridors may have restrictions.
- Remitly: 170+ destination countries. Strong coverage for Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
- Western Union: 200+ countries - broadest coverage. Only excludes Iran and North Korea.
- XE: 130+ countries across 190+ destinations.
- OFX: 170+ countries, but does NOT support Nigeria (NGN), Zimbabwe, and sanctioned countries.
- Atlantic Money: Limited to 9 currencies only (GBP, EUR, USD, CAD, AUD, etc.). Does NOT support transfers to Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nigeria, and many other countries.
