Exchange rates by currency
Every supported currency has its own page with the live rate against the majors, the official rate from its home central bank where one exists, and a converter. Start from the supported currencies list, or go straight to the most requested:
Official exchange rates by central bank
The central bank exchange rates hub lists all 121 banks with today's table, the publication calendar and history to the first table. The ones most searched for:
Tax authorities are on their own hub: tax authority exchange rates. How official rates are collected and checked is in the methodology.
Historical exchange rates
Official history is complete back to each bank's first table and is free to browse on every bank page and currency page. The whole archive is also published as an open dataset on Hugging Face, Kaggle and GitHub, refreshed daily. Mid-market history by date and as daily series is on the paid API plans.

Frequently asked questions
Where do AllRatesToday exchange rates come from?
Two places. Live mid-market rates are aggregated from wholesale market feeds and refreshed every 60 seconds. Official rates are collected directly from each central bank or tax authority on its own publication schedule and stored unchanged. The full list of sources is on the data sources page.
Are the exchange rates free?
Looking them up on the site is free. The official central-bank tables are free through the API with no key. Live mid-market rates need a free API key that comes with 300 requests and no card; higher volumes and dated history are on paid plans from €4.99 a month.
How often are the exchange rates updated?
Mid-market rates every 60 seconds. Official rates whenever the publishing bank releases them, which is once a day for most, and every response says which date the table is for and how old it is.
Which exchange rate should I use for invoices, tax or customs?
The official rate published by the relevant authority for that date, not the market rate. The central bank and tax authority sections serve exactly that figure, dated and never revised.
How far back do historical exchange rates go?
Official rates go back to each bank’s first published table, for the ECB that is 1999. Mid-market history covers the last 365 days by date or as a daily series on paid plans.
Need the rates in your own software?
